This Labor Day weekend comes before a busy week here in Laurens County. Two big events will be taking place next Thursday afternoon.

The Clinton Business Association is presenting its annual Block Party to welcome new Presbyterian College students to town from 6 until 7:30 Thursday evening. Local businesses, churches and other organizations have booths in the downtown area with greetings for the new city residents. This year 400 people are arriving either as Freshmen or as new students for the PC Pharmacy School. Activities on the stage at the Depot include Cheerleaders and members of the Football team.

Also Thursday evening, the Laurens County Delegation is inviting the public from Laurens County and beyond to come to the Little River Park for a celebration on behalf of the Laurens County Museum. There will be free BBQ to eat along with music from the local group Vinyl on stage. It’s all free, but everyone will be given an opportunity to make a donation for the Laurens County Museum’s plan to convert a Main Street building on the Laurens Square into its new location.
