Laurens Police were dispatched at 4:20 this morning to Hilltop Apartments on a report of an assault where a suspect had left on foot. Arrived to find apartment 5-H was in disarray with signs of a struggle. Two female victims 30 and 45-year old women, reportedly had minor injuries. There was a report that a male subject had been drinking all day and got into an altercation with the women. He was found on West Hampton Street near Martha Franks around 4:30 this morning. 27-year-old Cody Alan Knight of 100 Neighborhood Drive, Clinton was arrested and taken to the Johnson Detention Center. He’s being charged with Two Counts of Assault and Battery 3rd Degree.
