The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 7:51 last night to investigate a fire of suspicious origin just outside Clinton. A barn located off Charlotte’s Road in the across from the #114 address was burning. The owner of the barn indicated it was not connected to the electrical grid and had no other way to catch fire. He was unaware of all the contents of the building, but indicated it did have some petroleum products stored inside. The case was being referred to Lt. Shelton.
