Charges from Last Year & Last Decade

 Laurens Police yesterday charged a Waterloo man with assaulting another man with a jack handle almost one year ago while the Sheriff’s Office served him with Bench Warrants for traffic convictions including one from over 11 years ago.

  47-year-old Jarvis Maynard Rice of 406 Riverfork Road, Waterloo was charged with Assault and Battery 2nd Degree for that incident, and with Malicious Damage for another incident in town later last year.

Lt. Brandy Anderson states that on February 15, 2012 Jarvis Maynard Rice struck the victim in the head several times with a jack handle on February 15th, 2012, in an incident at 403 Fairview Road, Laurens. As a result of the injuries, the victim had to seek medical treatment.

  In another case from last September 1st, Laurens Police charged Jarvis Rice with Malicious Damage for allegedly causing damage to a bedroom window at Laurens Villa by knocking the window out, doing $300 in damages.

  The Sheriff’s Office yesterday served Rice with bench warrants from two traffic cases. He received a sentence of 30 days in jail or a $571.56 fine from a Driving inder Suspension conviction in May of 2010 and 15 days or $207 for a September, 2002 conviction of Driving an Uninsured Vehicle.

 Jarvis Maynard Rice remained in the Johnson Detention Center today.
