We’re down to the final hours of campaigning for candidates seeking election to Clinton City Council’s Seat 5. The special election will be held tomorrow with polls open Tuesday from 7 am until 7 pm. The ballot lists candidates as Danny Fortney, Josh Lindsay and Norman Scarborough. A write-in option is also available.
Voters eligible to vote for the District 5 seat are primarily in the Clinton I precinct, which votes at the Clinton Community Building at 109 East Ferguson Street and Clinton II precinct, which votes at the Clinton Y. A few eligible voters from the Clinton Mill precinct can vote with Precinct II at the Y and a few eligible voters from Clinton III precinct can vote with Clinton I at the Community Center.
Absentee voting continues at the Laurens County Elections Office in the Historic Courthouse on the Laurens Square until 5 pm this afternoon.
The special election is to replace Bob McLain on Council, following his election in an earlier special election to replace Randy Randall as Mayor of Clinton.
