The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Evans Drive, Clinton at 10;40 Sunday morning on an assault report. Deputy Paul Max Bollman heard reports of gunshots being fired following a drug deal between two men. Deputies, assisted by Clinton Public Safety, went to a resident in town where a woman who was reportedly involved with one of the men lives. she had allegedly stabbed her boyfriend. 38-year-old Wendy Lee Samples of 121 North Livingston Street, Clinton was charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature and with Use of a Weapon During Commission of a Violent Crime.
Deputy Bollman states in warrants that Ms. Samples stabbed the victim numerous times in his back and his right arm with a knife, causing great bodily injury to the victim.
She allegedly possessed a knife during the assault. Wendy Samples was being held in the Johnson Detention Center, pending arraignment on the charges today.
