Clinton Public Safety arrested a man Saturday night in connection with a shooting incident from September 30th. 25-year-old KaShon ONeal Johnson of 207 Pridmore, Laurens, also known as “Shon” and Gucci,” was charged with Attempted Murder, Discharging Firearm into a Dwelling, Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature, Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Crime. Kashon Johnson was also charged with Failure to Stop for a Blue Light and Driving Under Suspension from an incident this past December.
Detective Tyrone Goggins states that on September 30th, 2013 attempted to murder another man by firing a weapon into 100 Clinton Manor Drive. He is accused of discharging a firearm into a dwelling at that location. A charge of Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature from the September 30th incident alleges he fired a handgun that resulted in injury to another victim’s hand. Other warrants accuse him of having possession of a handgun while committing a violent crime at Clinton Manor Apartments September 30th, and he’s charged with being a felon convicted of a violent crime who is forbidden to possess a firearm.
In warrants from late in the year, Sgt. Jason Ritter states that Johnson did fail to stop the motor vehicle he was driving December 28, 2013 when signaled by law enforcement with flashing lights and audible siren. He instead allegedly accelerated at a high rate of speed to avoid the pursuing officer on Airport Road and other city streets of Clinton. He was also charged with Driving under Suspension of his license.
Bonds on the charges were set this weekend totaling $55,652.50. Kashon Oneal Johnson was transferred to the Johnson Detention Center, where he remained this morning.
