Roy Franklin Saxon, 72 of 1101 Peace Pipe Place and formerly of 691 Hwy. 49 in Laurens passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014, at his home.
Born in Laurens, he was the son of the late Claude and Mary Chumley Saxon. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Saxon retired from Torrington and former member of Lucas Ave. Baptist Church. He also was a Mason.
Surviving are his wife, Nan Nabors Saxon of the home; sons, Kim Robin Saxon and wife Penny of Waldorf, MD, and Steven Roy Saxon of Laurens; grandchildren, Kyle Saxon, Dustin Saxon, Devin Saxon, Christopher Saxon and Lauren Saxon; great grandchildren, Edward Saxon and Keylee Saxon.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Sandra Blakely Saxon.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Forest Lawn Cemetery conducted by Rev. Michael Post.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the graveside service..
