Laurens County Deputy Sweat and Sgt. Timmons were stationary in their patrol cars on Chapman Road near Fountain Inn at 2:37 yesterday morning observing the entrance to a mobile home park regarding an ongoing investigation when they reportedly observed a vehicle stop about 10 to 15 yards from the first stop sign, and a heavy-set male wearing a red shirt exited the vehicle, walked to the four-way intersection and reportedly began to yell and curse as he faced away from the deputies. During a rant, about 75 feet from the deputies, the “MF” phrase was about the only words the deputies could understand, and it was reportedly used at various times during the rant. The man then reportedly got back in his car and drove it forward, then turned right at the first intersection in the mobile home park. He stopped just past the first mobile home and raced the motor, the backed up very quickly, bumped into a telephone pole and started to leave the mobile home park. As he exited the park, he reportedly turned into a driveway off Chapman Road. Sgt. Timmons and Deputy Sweat approached and placed the man under arrest for Public Disorderly Conduct. The 30-year old Chapman Road resident was booked in the Johnson Detention Center, also charged with Driving under Suspension of his License. He told deputies about having been in a fight at a bar inside Fountain Inn, and that he had been yelling at the man who had pulled a gun on him.

Fountain Inn Police were notified of that situation, and were investigating it.
