The two men charged in last Friday’s double murder in Cross Hill have now also been charged in connection with a previous incident of Attempted Armed Robbery. The Sheriff’s Office states that this development comes after further investigation of an attempted armed robbery that occurred on the morning of Tuesday, January 28th at a local business on Highway 39 in Cross Hill. Laurens County investigators have charged 26-year-old Deshanndon Markelle Franks of 13468 Highway 560, Cross Hill and 22-year-old Tevin Oneil Hill of 107 John Grant Street, Cross Hill. Franks is charged with Attempted Armed Robbery and with Pointing and Presenting a Firearm. Hill is being charged with Attempted Armed Robbery. Both are still to face arraignment on these new charges.
Meanwhile, the two were arraigned yesterday morning on the two murder charges from last Friday’s killing of two people in Cross Hill. Bond was denied yesterday for both men. They remain in the Johnson Detention Center.
