A man returned home yesterday morning to find a burglary in progress. Sgt. Ron Wood was dispatched to 2036 Rabon Road west of Laurens at 10:02. The man said as he pulled into his driveway at 10 am he observed a man sitting in a light green Nissan Altima, between a 2002 and 2006 model. The resident said the man blew the horn twice and sped out of the drive. He said two men then ran from his house and across the yard into the road and jumped into the vehicle. The man said he ran into his house and grabbed his handgun and as the two men got into the vehicle he fired a shot at them. He thought he hit the front window. Deputies reported finding shards of glass in the roadway where the two men got into the car. Sgt. Wood noted it appeared that two windows were shot out; that there was glass on both sides of the roadway as though the bullet penetrated both sides of the vehicle. The driver and both men who ran from the house were described as black males. Of the two who ran from the house, one had dreadlocks and another had on an orange shirt. Then men had dropped a playstation 3, a Wii and a collection of military knives at the front door. Sgt. Wood noted the front door had been kicked in to gain entry into the house on Rabon Road.
