The agenda for Clinton City Council’s meeting on Monday included an executive session to discuss several issues including a personnel matter involving the Clinton City Manager. When Council returned from that executive session Mayor Bob McLean explained that the City Manager’s contract was due to expire soon and unless either the City Manager or the City Council took some other action, the contract would renew for a period of one year. After a brief discussion in open session a motion was made and passed unanimously extending the employment contract of City Manager Frank Stovall for five years. The new contract is set to expire on May 12, 2019… five years from the date of Monday’s meeting.
Frank Stovall was initially employed in his current role as City Manager of Clinton in 2011.
