A $75,000 bond was set yesterday on a Simpsonville man arrested for an assault in Upper Laurens County last week. The Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old John Willie Hester Jr. of 251 Black Road, Simpsonville and charged him with Assault and Battery 1st Degree for an alleged assault on a woman on May 19th at a location on Highway 418 near Betheny Circle, Fountain Inn. Hester allegedly struck a woman in the left eye causing great bodily injury. With the $75,000 bond, he remained in the Laurens County Detention Center this morning.
