The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Woodberry Drive east of Laurens at 10 o’clock last night on a report of a domestic assault involving the use of motor vehicles. Deputy Michael Crockett arrived and reported finding a man standing in the middle of the drive way yelling at his girlfriend. Two vehicles were present, both with front-end damage. Deputy Crockett and Lt. Marty Crain talked with the man and woman separately and were informed the two had been arguing and the woman had reportedly left, but was pursued by the man who reportedly used his vehicle to strike the front of hers on A.B. Jacks Road near their residence. The man reportedly indicated he was trying to calm her down about the argument. The woman reportedly appeared afraid but didn’t want to charge the boyfriend from the incident. Deputies arrested the man and placed him in the Johnson Detention Center, where he was being held for charges.
28-year-old Christopher Leshun Jennings of 484 Woodberry Drive, Laurens was to be charged with Criminal Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature for the allegedly assault by motor vehicle.
