A man and woman from Joanna have been charged with Child Neglect for alleged drug use in the presence of their infant. 47-year-old Charles Joseph “Chuck” Shealy and 40-year-old Georgette Hope Griffin, also known as Georgette Hope Gregory, both reside at 528 Browning Avenue, Joanna. Each was served with a Child Neglect warrant that states they placed at unreasonable risk of harm a minor child under the age of one by their testing positive to Methamphetamine. This allegedly happened on July 7th when they reportedly had custody of the minor child. Each was listed as the child’s parent. $5,000 surety bonds were set on the Child Neglect charge for each. Georgette Hope Griffin, or Gregory and Charles “Chuck” Shealy remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
