Laurens City Police received a report at 5:16 yesterday afternoon of a break-in at a house on Moreland Avenue. A woman reported a Taurus .38 pistol and a Nikon camera were taken from a nightstand in her bedroom. Lt. Copeland noted a missing section of screen on the screened porch. Sgt. Gainey responded later as other items were discovered taken. With the addition of a missing Apple Mac book, jewelry and other items, total value of stolen property came to $5,000. Sgt. Gainey accompanied a resident to check trail cameras outside the house. These reportedly revealed the picture of a suspect, described as a young black male with no shirt, wearing Khaki shorts, one red shoe and one black shoe.
