The Sheriff’s Office yesterday made an arrest from a burglary the first of this month. 35-year-old William Robert Prather Jr. of 58 Sloop Drive, Laurens was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny and with Metals/Injury to Real Property from a break-in. Lt. Blackmon states that on September 1st William Robert Prather Jr. broke into a building on Madden Heights, Laurens without consent and with intent to commit a crime therein. Prather allegedly did damage of $5,000 or more to a residence at that address and took items valued at over $2,000 that belonged to the victim who owned that property with intent to permanently deprive him. William Robert Prather Jr. was being held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center, pending a bond hearing today.
