A double shooting resulted in the deputies responding to Sloop Drive, off Ekom Beach Road at 4:15 yesterday afternoon. The first deputy arriving was informed that a 78-year-old of the residence had been involved in an altercation with his son and grandson and that during the course of the altercation he had shot them. Two men, aged 48 and 18, were transported for treatment of injuries. One was reportedly air-lifted with more serious injuries. Additional officers arrived to investigate the circumstances surrounding the double shooting. 78-year-old George Lewis Griffin Sr. of 100 Sloop Drive, Laurens was placed in the Johnson Detention Center, where he was being held overnight, pending charges.
