The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was notified yesterday morning about multiple people attempting to use counterfeit money at a store in the Green Pond Road area of the county recently. Deputy Brad Shepard met with a store owner who presented a fake $100 bill her husband had received. She noted that others who have recently attempted to purchase items with fake money would snatch it back and leave when told it was not valid money. A report on the counterfeiting was referred to investigations.
