The Sheriff’s Office made an arrest Saturday in connection with an alleged domestic assault over four years ago. 32-year-old Timothy Keith Smith of 346 Barley Road, Gray Court was charged with 3rd or Greater Offense of Criminal Domestic Violence. A warrant alleges that on June 7th of 2012 Timothy Keith Smith unlawfully caused injury on the victim, a member of his household, by striking her in the face and biting her on her left hand, causing imminent peril and fear for her life. This occurred at a location in the 200-300 address range of Highway 49, Laurens. The warrant states the defendant has four prior convictions of Criminal Domestic Violence within the past ten years. A cash or surety bond was set at $3,000. Timothy Smith remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
