PC Notes: Last Saturday PC’s men’s team hosted UNC Greensboro and it was a hard fought game but in the end PC lost by two, 55-53… Last Saturday the Lady Blue Hose traveled to High Point and came up on the short end of a 54-49 score… Now both teams are off until Friday when the men host Montreat and then next Monday the ladies host Southern Wesleyan… More about those on Friday.

LDHS vs. CHS… Last night the Laurens JV squads traveled to Clinton for round 2 of their annual rivalry games
- G: Laurens 37 – Clinton 12… In the first game at Clinton last night, The Lady Raiders defeated the Lady Red Devils for the second time this season and this time it was by a score of 37-12… Malaysia Todd had 13 to be the top scorer for Laurens but SynPorsha long was just 2 points behind her with 11.
- B: Laurens 47 – Clinton 39… In boys’ action, Laurens avenged a loss last week to the Red Devils taking a 47-39 win…. Clinton led by 1 (10-9) at the end of the first quarter but Laurens surged ahead to take a 21-15 lead at the half… Clinton trailed by 11 at the end of the third quarter but got within 2 points in the 4th but Laurens was able to make their rally come up short and pulled back out to the final 8 point margin of victory… Braylin McBeth had 14 points and Brandon Gallamore had 7 to be the top 2 scorers for the Raiders…. Shimeek Gaskins 13 points while Tashymen Boyd had 11to lead Clinton…
Middle School Basketball
- G: BSW 25 – HT 8… The BSW Lady Wildcats came out of the box with a full court press that gave the Lady Panthers problems and raced out to a 13-2 lead at the end of the first period putting HT in a hole they just could not climb out of as BS went on to a 25-8 win… Neither team played that well as they each team had over 30 turnover in the game… The leading scorer for the wildcats was Aaliyah Johnston who had a game high 11 points… Other scoring were Takira Williams 9, Hannah Hostetler 4 and Kaylee Underwood with 1… For the Panthers Brianna Cureton had 4 points while Sydney Stryk and Zendiyah Gillian each had 2 points.
- B: BSW 40 – HT 31… In boys action, the Wildcats also opened the game strong forcing panther errors and they too raced out to a big lead at the end of the first quarter as they took an 18-3 lead in route to a 40-31 win…. The Wildcats went on to lead 28-10 at the half but HT played better in the second half… They oust cored BS in each of the last 2 quarters but just could come all the way back… BS had 2 players scoring 10 points each and they were Deshaun McGee & Quantez McGowan… Jaquan Davis added 8, while Keontez Cook and Christopher Austin each had 3… PJ Bluford, Jamarcus Cook & Brooks Seawright each added 2 points… For the HT Panthers Jackson Mahon was the game high scorer with 11 points… Also scoring for the Panthers were Devon Hubner 8, Jalen Bragg 7, Will Tinsley & Jay Rice 2 each and finally Caleb Grant with 1…. By the way, HT will be playing at LMS tonight instead of Thursday die to school scheduling conflicts.
Belton @ Sanders Middle School
- G: Belton 49 – SMS 22… Last night two undefeated girls teams meet as Sanders hosted Belton… When the final buzzer sounded, Belton had taken a convincing 49-22 win…. Abby Riddle and Ja’daija Pinson each had 9 points to lead Sanders.
- B: SMS 40 – Belton 37… In boys’ action, Sanders turned the table taking a 40-37 win over Belton… The game was close all the way with both teams giving it all they had… J’von Harris had 9 points and De Foster 8 to lead Sanders… Sanders game with Honea Path scheduled for Thursday has been moved to today also because of school scheduling conflicts.
Gray Court-Owing @ Laurens Middle
- G: LMS 38 – GCO 6… The Laurens Middle School girls held the visitors from GCO scoreless in the first half while scoring 18 points in the half in route to a 38-6 win… Two LMS players scored in double digits they were Cassidy Plia with 14 points and Aija Davis with 12…. Paula Abrams led GCO with 4 points.
- B: LMS 43 –GCO 22… The LMS boys’ team completed the sweep of GCO by taking a 43-22 win… The game was close at the half (10-8) at the half but LMS broke it open in the last half outscoring GCO 33-14… Zhrece Anderson & Javone Anderson led the victors with 13 and 10 points respectively… Coach Andrew Campbell stated afterwards “Iam proud of the way our guys responded to a slow first half… They played with a lot of intensity late in the game”… GCO was paced by Jay Lee who had 7 points.

- The Clinton Family YMCA is offering Free Basketball Skills Clinics for youth ages 9-12… The clinics will be on Monday December 8th and again on Monday December 15th… They will run from 5:30 – 7:00 pm each day and are FREE… To register, call the YMCA at 833-1555

- Youth Basketball… Registration is now open for youth basketball at the Laurens YMCA… It is open to youth ages 3-14 and will be divided into age appropriate divisions… The cost is $65 for members and $75 for nonmembers… Registration will close January 4th.
