Couple Accused of Exposing Children to Meth

The Sheriff’s Office yesterday served warrants on a man and a woman who allege that they exposed their three children to methamphetamine over a period of almost two years. This time frame began on the birth date of the youngest of the three children. 34-year-old John David Andeton Owens and 28-year-old Amanda Danielle Owens, both of 199 Todd Road, Gray Court were each charged with three Counts, Unlawful Exposure of a Minor Child to Methamphetamine and its Byproducts and also with three counts, Unlawful Neglect of a Minor Child.

In three of the six warrants served on Mr. and Mrs. Owens, Deputy Michael Crocket states that between December 7, 2012 and November 24, 2014 they did expose a child to methamphetamine and its byproducts at 105 Church Street, Gray Court. Warrants state the children were born January 4th, 2008, June 3rd, 2010 and December 7th, 2012.

In three additional warrants for each suspect, Officer Crocket states that on November 24th, 2014 John David Owens and Amanda D. Owens did place a minor child at unreasonable risk of harm and that he and she had custody of the child and was the child’s parent or guardian.

Cash or Surety bonds were set for Mr. Owens totaling $120,000 on his six charges and for Mrs. Owens on her six charges totaling $90,000. John David Andeton Owens and Amanda Danielle Owens both remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
