A mischievous “Grinch” struck a Cross Hill neighborhood again this weekend. Sheriff’s Deputy Adrian Allen was dispatched to the Crystal Bay subdivision at 9:53 Saturday night on a report of theft and vandalism of a Christmas Nativity Scene at the intersection of Crystal Bay Drive and Commodore Drive. Someone had removed an angel from the stop of the scene doing minimum damage. A man reported that a few days ago someone took a wooden cut-out of the Baby Jesus from the Nativity scene, but the Baby Jesus was returned to the front gate of the subdivision on Highway 72 Friday with a note saying “I’m back.” He said the items missing from the scene Saturday evening included wooden cut-outs of a bull, two sheep, one donkey, one shepherd and a vinyl toy baby doll wrapped in white cloth.
