A $50,000 bond was set yesterday on a Clinton man who allegedly assaulted his father the afternoon before. Clinton Public Safety arrested 22-year-old Christopher Lee “Chris” Couey of a mobile home park on Oakland Street, Clinton late Wednesday afternoon and charged him with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature. Public Safety Officer Thomas Peay states that the defendant hit the victim in the face with a closed fist on Wednesday. The victim suffered broken bones on the left side of his face and also a small cut above his left eye. This allegedly occurred Wednesday on lot 4 of 107 Oakland Street. With bond set at $50,000 cash or surety, Christopher “Chris” Couey was transferred to the Laurens County Detention Center yesterday.
