A Laurens County teen reported a case of alleged sodomy from his childhood to the Sheriff’s Office yesterday. He indicated the single incident happened when he was 5 years gold, and the act was perpetrated by his step-grandfather. He said the rape stopped when his grandmother came into the room and told the attacker to get up off him or she would call the cops. The alleged victim is now in his late teens.
Important personal papers and other items worth over $650 were reportedly stolen from a Clinton woman’s car. Clinton Public Safety was dispatched to the 700 block of North Sloan at 8:48 Monday night, and met the woman who said she left her vehicle door open while she walked her child into the residence that that location. Her purse with a black and white pattern was sitting between the driver’s and front passenger’s seat. She said that she was not inside the house more than two minutes, but when she returned to her car, the purse was gone. It reportedly contained all her and her children’s social security cards and IDs, a bank card, her wedding band, a diamond ring, a camera and several medications. Sgt. Cathy Anderson patrolled the vicinity but did not turn up any clues following the incident.
Simple Possession of Marijuana charges were to be filed on a 16-year-old Laurens High student this week. Sheriff’s Office S.R.O. Alexander was approached by a teacher and administrator at the school Monday morning. The juvenile had allegedly been observed with a clear baggy that contained the illegal green leafy substance around 8am. The case was referred to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Walker Road near Ware Shoals just before 2 yesterday afternoon to investigate a burglary. Someone had broken into the house and had taken a stove and dishwasher. They had been left on the front porch. Meanwhile, a stereo had been removed and left in the front yard near the fence gate. It appeared the thief was planning to return for these items. Meanwhile, other items reported missing from the residence included a mattress, box spring and a jacket.
