Clinton Public Safety yesterday served firearm charges on a local man, following his arrest the previous night. 40-year-old Randy Lamont Toland of 117 Bond Street, Clinton was initially charged with Public Intoxication in a ticket issued on Third Street at 6:17pm. In additional charges served yesterday, Randy Lamont Toland was also charged with Three Counts of Pointing and Presenting a Firearm. Captain Crystal Roberts states that Randy Lamont Toland pointed and presented a 40-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun at three victims near Third Street on April 2nd. Another warrant was for Discharging Firearm in City. Captain Crystal Roberts states that on or about April 2nd the defendant discharged a Smith and Wesson 40-caliber handgun unlawfully, multiple times nearThird Street, within the city limits ofClinton.
Randy Toland was also charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He is also facing a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. Captain Roberts states that on April 2nd had in his possession a quantity of marijuana with intent to distribute. The warrant states the 22 grams of marijuana was wrapped in six separate baggies common with distribution. This allegedly occurred on Third Street.
$40,000 cash or surety bonds were set on the Three Discharging a Firearm charges and the Felon in Possession. A $1,000 personal recognizance bond was set on the discharging a firearm in the city limits charge. Randy Lamont Toland was transferred to theJohnsonDetentionCenteryesterday, where he remained earlier this morning.
