Early Morning Arrest on Multiple Drug Charges

 Laurens Police made an arrest on Spring Street just after 1 o’clock this morning, booking a man who is wanted for alleged drug sales over the past year and a half. 22-year-old Brandon O’Neal Young of Hilltop Apartments on Spring Street is charged with three counts, Distribution of Crack Cocaine and three counts, Distribution Within Proximity of a School.

Detective Leann Riggett states that the defendant did distribute a quantity of crack cocaine to a confidential informant working in an undercover capacity with the Laurens Police Department on three dates, and further that these illegal sales were within a half mile of a school. Warrants alleged that Brandon O’Neal Young made these sales of crack cocaine on October 17, 2011 at or near the intersection of South Harper Street and Green Street, within a half mile of Sanders Middle School on Green Street; on October 24th 2011 on Fairview Street within a half mile of Faith Christian School on the Greenwood Road and on September 26, 2012 at 110 Miller Street, within a half mile of the Gleams School on Miller Street. 

22-year-old Brandon O’Neal Young of Laurens was placed in the Johnson Detention Center overnight, pending arraignment on the six charges.
