“Celebrate! Remember! Fight Back…..and HOPE!” These words rang out loud and clear at the close of Marion Reeder’s address during the Relay for Life of Laurens County Survivor Dinner last Thursday at St. James United Methodist Church. These words are also the ongoing theme of Relay for Life of the American Cancer Society.
This year’s Celebration with the Annual Relay for Life event will be this Friday, May 3rd at Laurens District 55 High School football stadium. Cancer survivors are invited to walk a lap of celebration, but golf carts are available for those who need the assistance.
The celebration will include inflatable games, face painting, a petting zoo and even bingo, along with food and music from Crazy Diamond and local school groups.
The Remember portion of the relay includes the lighting of the luminaries followed by the survivors walk.
Again, this year’s Laurens County Relay for Life is this Friday evening at Laurens High School’s K.C. Hanna Stadium.
