An arrest was made yesterday by Clinton Public Safety in connection with an alleged passing of a counterfeit $100 bill last month. 41-year-old Donald Vestus Ellis of 133 Paul Shore Road, Waterloo was charged with passing a Counterfeit Bill. Clinton Public Safety Officer Josh Ritter states that on April 24th the defendant entered the McDonalds on Highway 56 at Interstate 26 and passed a counterfeit $100 bill to the clerk with intent to deprive the store of merchandise and change. A cash or surety bond of $25,000 was set on the charge. Donald Vestus Ellis was transferred to the Johnson Detention Center.
