Clinton Public Safety was dispatched to Clinton Manor at 6:23 Saturday morning on a report of a large fight in progress. Public Safety Officer Phillip Wicker reported arriving to observe several people run behind the number 8 building. He spoke with one woman who reported being involved in an altercation at Nightclub Fruit in Laurens, and that on return to Clinton he two started fighting again. Early Saturday afternoon, Clinton Public Safety booked 26-year-old Tashami Omica “Shami” Worthy of 103 Locust Street, Clinton on a charge of Simple Assault and Battery. She is accused of hitting another woman in the head and body with her fist in Clinton Saturday. Ms. Worthy was released Saturday afternoon on a $470 personal recognizance bond.
