The Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 3:32 yesterday afternoon to investigate a report of theft from a scrap metal shop in the Gray Court area. A man told Deputy Walter Summers Jr. that two men had come in and unloaded a truck. The employee said that after the men left he noticed one of the pieces the scrap yard had just purchased was an old compressor that he had just put out in front of the shop. The compressor weighted 61 pounds, and the scrap metal processor had reportedly paid $12 to buy a piece of their own product.
