Deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded to 163 Christian Drive outside Laurens at 1:49 Saturday morning in reference to narcotics complaint and to serve outstanding arrest warrants. There was reportedly a Crimestoppers tip received by the Sheriff’s office Friday that methamphetamine was being cooked and sold at the residence. There was also information of warrants on two subjects at the location.
Lt. Higgenbotham, Sgt. Johnston, Cpl Moye and Deputy Nations of the Sheriff’s Office were joined by Laurens Police Officers in visiting the suspect location.
31-year-old Stacey Lynn Jones of 163 Christian Drive reportedly answered the door. 27-year-old Brandon Scott Jones of the same address was reportedly located “pretending” to be asleep and was placed under arrest.
Officers reportedly then found items from a meth lab in a cabinet of the kitchen.
Both Brandon and Stacey Jones were charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine from evidence found early Saturday morning at 163 Christian Drive.
The Sheriff’s Office also charged Brandon Jones with two warrants alleging that on June 22nd, 2012 he was engaged in Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Manufacture of Marijuana at a Gray Court area address. He was held in the Johnson Detention Center this morning with bonds set at $30,000. He was also served with a Bench Warrant citing failure to appear on a Possession of a Controlled Substance charge.
In addition to the new Manufacturing Methamphetamine charge, Stacy Lynn Jones was also charged by Laurens City Police with Attempt to Purchase Ephedrine. She is alleged to have attempted to purchase more than 9 grams of ephedrine in a 30-day period on June 27th, 2013 at Walgreen’s on East Main in Laurens. Ms. Jones was released from the Johnson Detention Center this weekend on $5,500 personal recognizance bonds.
