Laurens Police were dispatched to 1105 North Harper with lights and siren at 11:37 Saturday morning after a report that a woman had been robbed at gunpoint. Officers secured the store where the robbery had reportedly occurred and a coin-operated Laundromat next door. The victim, a 29-year-old woman, had reportedly been in the store with her three children and two suspects had been sitting next door in the Laundromat. The suspects then came into the store and while one distracted the woman the other got behind her and put a gun to her head. She was reportedly escorted to the bathroom and told if she came out or talked to the police her children would be killed. The suspects then took some phone cards, the register and the contents of the woman’s purse that include personal information on her and her children. The suspects reportedly left the area in a green or other dark-color SUV heading north on North Harper. Video taken of the incident inside the store was entered into evidence. Officers related information on the matter to the following shift for the woman’s safety. Police note that $1500 in cash was taken along with $2,000 in phone cards, for a total theft value of $3500.
