The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested six people at an allegedly active meth lab around midnight last night. The arrests came after deputies reported finding two active “One-Pots” and other materials used in methamphetamine manufacture inside a garage behind the house at 412 Gastley Drive, outside Clinton. Lt. Marlon Higgenbotham, Cpl Nick Moye and Deputy Charles Nations were assisted by other officers from the Sheriff’s Office and Highway Patrol.
Deputies reportedly also found a bag containing over one gram of methamphetamine in the shed and a .22 caliber revolver.
Deputies were to obtain warrants today with charges expected to be filed including Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Illegal Disposal of Methamphetamine Waste, Possession with Intent to Distribute Meth and with Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Violent Crime. At least one of the six could also face charges of a Felon in Possession of a Gun.
Two children from inside the residence were reportedly released to custody of other family members.
The four men and two women were being held in the Johnson Detention Center, pending formal charges.
