The Henry Laurens Award was presented to three recipients at last night’s Laurens County Council Meeting.
Honored were Dr. Jerman Disasa, recognized for his many years as director of the CHAMPS Program at Presbyterian College; Doug Stewart, owner of the Better Service Milling Company of Gray Court and president of the Laurens County Farm Bureau and George “Sammy” Wham, Chairman of the Laurens County Airport Commission and member of the Piedmont Technical College Advisory Commission.
Wham said after receiving the award, that the best reward for him is when he hears comments like, “We all recognize the importance of the airport for economic development of the Laurens County.”
