An estranged Clinton wife reportedly returned home after being gone over two months and began trashing the place shortly after noon yesterday. Sheriff’s Deputy McMahan was dispatched to the residence on Jacobs Highway outside Clinton at 12:46 yesterday afternoon and met with the husband. He said that his wife had been gone since October 21st but returned at 12:10 pm yesterday and broke through the kitchen window. She reportedly came in turning over a table in the kitchen. He said she was causing a disturbance so he asked her to leave. She reportedly threw ash trays, breaking them in the floor. She also allegedly broke the vanity mirror in the bathroom. The husband said he asked her to leave several times. At one point she reportedly scratched or hit him in his face with some object. He had two scratches on the left side of his face. One of them was bleeding when Deputy McMahan was there. The husband said once the wife was done, she left the house. He said he didn’t know what caused her to act in that manner, and never gave a reason for her actions. The Deputy was unable to make contact with the wife during yesterday’s initial investigation. A warrant will be sought to charge the woman with Criminal Domestic Violence since the husband had visible injuries. She will not be charged with Damage to the property as both are still legally married and no separation papers are in place.
