Two teenage girls were arrested yesterday following a fight in the commons area of Clinton High School. School Resource Officer Josh Byers reported walking into the commons at 8:00 am and observing two females fighting. He immediately got between the two females and began commanding them to stop. Both girls continued swinging at each other, also striking the officer in the process. The officer was reportedly struck in the back of his head several times by the 16-year-old juvenile female as he was shielding the 17-year-old. Both were placed in custody and transported to Public Safety, charged with Disorderly Conduct. As a juvenile, the 16-year-old was released to the custody of her parent. The 17-year-old female was placed in a cell. She was released at 4:06 pm on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
