A violent rape in Laurens County last Thursday is alleged in an arrest yesterday by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. 46-year-old William Scottie Sexton of 114 Laurens Court, Fountain Inn has been charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct, Pointing and Presenting a Firearm at a Person, Possession of a Firearm by a Violent Felon and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime.
Lt. Bobby Galarza states in warrants that on January 9th William Scottie Sexton did engage in sexual battery by forcing himself on the victim and having violent sexual intercourse, while also kidnapping the victim at gunpoint at her residence in the Fountain Inn area.
The firearm warrants state that Sexton, a convicted felon, unlawfully had a loaded firearm during a violent sexual crime, that as a convicted felon he was in unlawful possession of a loaded firearm during commission of a violent crime, and that he knowingly and willfully possessed and displayed a firearm during commission of a violent crime, and that the defendant has been convicted of a violent crime.
Lt. J.R. Galarza also provided information that William Scottie Sexton is a fugitive from the state of New York that carries a crime punishable with a sentence of one year or more.
Bond was denied on all the Laurens County charges. Sexton is also being held for authorities in New York.
