Helen Kay DeMario, 87, formerly of 509 Fairview Rd. and widow of Harry Bergh and Ralph Jon DeMario, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community.
Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late John Arthur and Madge Louise Medlock Taylor. After living the majority of her life in Chicago, IL, Mrs. DeMario moved back to Laurens in 1985, where she was an active member of First Baptist Church, the Golden Circle Sunday School Class, The Martha Franks Singers, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by: a daughter, Patricia K. Sowder of Gig Harbor, WA; sister, Jean Taylor Williams of Laurens, a son-in-law, Richard Dean Heironimus, Jr. of Leesburg, VA grandchildren, Col. Christopher Arthur Gruber (Miriam) of Tacoma, WA, Richard Dean Heironimus, III (Becky) of Annandale, VA, Molly Heironimus Lynch (David) of Ashburn, VA, and Andrew Clinton Heironimus (Colleen) of Purcellville, VA; great grandchildren, Terah Gruber, Haley Heironimus, Seth Heironimus, Tyler Heironimus, Paige Lynch, Rylie Lynch, Gavin Heironimus, Owen Heironimus, and Andrew Heironimus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Heironimus, brothers, Boyce Arthur Taylor, William Wesley Taylor, Fred Eugene Taylor, and John Franklin Taylor; and sisters, Louise Taylor Martin and Betty Taylor Philpott.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Martha Franks Rasor Chapel conducted by Rev. Rickey Letson and Dr. Russell Dean.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Rasor Chapel immediately following the memorial service.
