Eight 22 inch aluminum rims were stolen from a car lot and mechanic shop on US Highway 76, Hickory Tavern, according to a report filed with the Sheriff’s Office yesterday morning. A shop operator told Deputy Edwards that they noticed the lock to a storage room lying on the ground when they arrived yesterday morning. Later they noted the 8 aluminum rims were missing from that storage room. 4 more mixed rims were also believed to be missing. A bottle of Gatorade found near the storage room door was taken into evidence, as it was believed to have been left behind by the intruder. Value of the stolen rims was estimated at $3,000.
