Shoplifting was more than a handful yesterday for Laurens City Police. And that includes more than a handful in the number of arrests. Six people were placed in the county detention center, and we understand there are warrants for others also pending.
Three were jailed yesterday for allegedly shoplifting merchandise from the Family Dollar Store at 102 Fleming Street. These were a 21-year-old man from Wilson Town Road, Laurens, a 25-year-old woman from Warrior Creek Church Road,Gray Court and a 19-year-old female from Forest Road.
The Laurens man was also being held for charges from the Sheriff’s Office.
Three more were jailed for allegedly shoplifting at Wal-Mart yesterday.
These included a 17-year-old male from Laurens, a 19-year-old Waterloo female and a 21-year-old Laurens woman from 221 North.
