The SC Department of Public Safety yesterday recognized law enforcement officers and agencies for their efforts in 2012 to enforce the state’s DUI laws and remove impaired drivers from South Carolina roadways. Awards were presented to officers and agencies in several categories and held drawings for agencies to win equipment and vehicles during the 8th Annual DUI Enforcement Recognition and 2012 Law Enforcement DUI Challenge Ceremonies.
Winning Officer of the Year for agencies with 11 to 25 officers was Sgt. Kyle Snelgrove of the Fountain Inn Police Department. 13 DUI arrests were noted in his presentation. Officer of the Year for agencies with 101 or more officers was Deputy Jonathan Jackson of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, who made 152 DUI arrests during the year.
In Agencies of the Year awards, the Mauldin Police Department won for agencies with 26 to 50 officers. They made 164 DUI arrests. The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office won for agencies of 101 or more officers.
