A Clinton woman was released from custody this weekend after being arrested on a charge of Criminal Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature. Clinton Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Amanda Dawkins of 611 Bailey Street, Clinton Thursday afternoon. She is accused of committing an aggravated assault on a man with whom she lives Thursday by stabbing him with a knife. The victim required treatment for a small puncture wound. A warrant further alleges that Ms. Dawkins also punched the victim numerous times about his body during the assault in their home on Bailey Street. Amanda Dawkins was transferred to the Johnson Detention Center. She was released Saturday on posting a $25,000 Surety Bond.
