Laurens City Police Friday arrested a local man for allegedly selling liquor out of his home. 71-year-old Bobby Joe Smith of 100 Pridmore Street, Laurens was charged with Two Counts of Operating a Business without a License and one charge of Unlawful Sale of Liquor. Detective Tony Lynch states that Bobby Smith committed the crime of operating a business without a license between September 29th and October 6th 2013 by selling alcohol at his residence. On a second count of that charge, Detective Lynch alleges Smith sold alcohol from his residence on November 6th. A third warrant alleges that Smith sold a quantity of an alcoholic beverage to a confidential informant on November 6th. Bobby Joe Smith was released Saturday on Surety bonds including two for $500 and one for $600.
