Firefighters and the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a mobile home residence on Sawmill Road, Gray Court last evening, where a man was burned on 30% of his body while reportedly fighting a fire inside the residence. The resident indicated he had fought the fire for 30 minutes before calling 911. He was transported by helicopter for treatment of the burns to his arms, hands and legs. Firefighters initially suspected the fire was possibly caused by a meth lab explosion. Lt. Shelton arrived to investigate and sought a search warrant to determine cause of the suspicious fire. A report indicates the meth lab theory was ruled out as the cause of the fire.
