A personnel change is coming in the management of Laurens County’s detention center. Sheriff Ricky Chastain informed Council Tuesday night /that Major Chris Hudson is leaving as Director of the Johnson Detention Center and the end of July. Hudson has accepted a new position outside government. Council members commended Hudson during their comment time in the meeting. The Sheriff also announced Tuesday that Captain Joe Tyson will be taking over as the top administrator at the Johnson Detention Center following Chris Hudson’s departure.
