Brenda Hartline of the Laurens Baptist Crisis Center was this week’s Laurens CPW meeting to receive a donation of $4,500.00. The money was raised by the commission’s customers who participated in the “round up program,” where donations are made monthly by rounding utility bills up to the nearest dollar, and that additional money is set aside for presentations like the one yesterday.
Last Friday WLBG listeners came by Valvoline Express Care in Laurens during their annual Food Drive for the Baptist Crisis Center. 700 items of food were delivered, along with in excess of $1,000. This was the 6th year for the food drive, hosted by Valvoline Express Care on Hillcrest Drive in Laurens and broadcast live on WLBG.
