Two women were charged with Drug Possession yesterday, following their arrest Wednesday night. Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Veal stated in warrants for both women that they knowingly and intentionally were in possession of Clonzepam, a schedule IV controlled substance, without authority to do so. During arraignment yesterday $5,000 cash or surety bonds were set on the Possession of a Control Substance charges for 27-year-old Ashley Ann Smith of 3342 Warrior Creek Church Road, Gray Court and 18-year-old Andrea Summer “Drea” Storey of 10 Hammett Street, Laurens. “Drea” Storey was also charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana in a ticket issued Wednesday night. A $620 bond was set on that charge. Both remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
A 35-year-old Gray Court area man was also jailed Wednesday night following the traffic stop on Highway 14. He was charged with Speeding 10 miles per hour over the limit and with an Open Beer Violation, then released yesterday on personal recognizance bonds.
